5 Fun Spring Crafts from Berry Containers

A fruit bowl is one of my favorite side dishes. It’s nutritious, colorful and super easy. Berries are also a super “fast food” for our lunch boxes and afternoon snacks. This means we collect several clear plastic berry containers each week from blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Ever since we created these adorable Christmas photo holder ornaments, we’ve been on the look for creative ways to re-purpose berry containers. We’re ready for spring with 5 fun spring crafts.

Make a berry cute bunny treat holder.

It’s time to think “bunnies.” A berry container can make the cutest little bunny face. Attach ears cut from paper or craft foam and add two craft wiggly eyes, paper or foam eyes to the top. Now comes the fun part. Fill the container with a pink treat to color in the bunny face. Whether it’s pink jelly beans or blue cotton candy, this little Easter treat holder will look just dandy.

Design a cute spring purse for little girls.

Little girls just love purses and berry containers can be re-purposed into an adorable one. Simply cover the bottom inside and top outside with fabric. Pastel felt is perfect for spring. Now you’ll need about 3 feet of ribbon. Weave the ribbon in and out of the holes already in the berry container and leave a purse strap from end to end. Small toys, kid-friendly lip glosses or Easter treats will be right at home in this cute homemade purse.

Craft a fun photo frame.

Did you know berry containers will stand up on end and are even tilted back a bit? This creates the neatest stand up photo frame. Place the photo on the top of the lid and decorate the edges by weaving ribbon in and out of the holes or gluing on decorations. Tiny shells are cute for a spring break beach photo and craft gems are royally fun too.

Turn a berry container into a terrarium.

Spring is time to think garden and a berry container can be repurposed into an eco-friendly mini terrarium. Take a nature walk on a beautiful spring day to collect soil, stones, mosses and terrarium terrific tiny plants. Place stones in the bottom to cover the holes first and then layer the soil. Put your “green” terrarium in the sun and watch what happens.

Create a perfect Easter egg house.

A tisket a tasket, there are eggs in every basket. For little people who are traveling to and from preschool with extra special eggs, a berry container is perfect. They can nestle their eggs inside on paper grass and close the lid to protect them. Since it’s clear, they can show them off and look at them without even opening the lid.
