2012 Michigan State Football Schedule

Michigan State finished the 2011 season 11-3, going 7-1 in conferene, winning the Legends Division, losing to Wisconsin in the inaugural Big Ten Championship game and beating Georgia 33-30 in the Outback Bowl.

This is a look at Michigan State’s 2012 football schedule. No predictions until after fall practices. Results of last game played, any kind of streak involved, as well as location of road games are provided as well. All home games are at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

8/31 Boise State Broncos. This is the first time these two schools have ever faced one another and it will be televised on ESPN. Both teams will be breaking in new QBs.
9/8 at Central Michigan Chippewas. Kelly/Shorts Stadium, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. MSU won 45-7 last year.
9/15 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Spartans look to avenge last year’s 28-6 debacle in South Bend
9/22 Eastern Michigan Eagles. Last meeting was in 2008, won by the Spartans 42-10. The Spartans have never lost to the Eagles to my knowledge
9/29 Ohio State Buckeyes. Buckeyes look to avenge last year’s 10-7 Spartan win at the Horseshoe
10/6 at Indiana Hoosiers. Memorial Stadium, Bloomington, Indiana. Spartans won in East Lansing last year 55-3. First time Spartans leave the state of Michigan. Spartans have won five straight
10/13 Iowa Hawkeyes. Hawkeyes look to avenge Spartans 37-21 loss at Kinnkick Stadium last year. Iowa comes to East Lansing after two straight years of travelling to Iowa
10/20 at Michigan Wolverines. Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wolverines look to end a 4 game skid to the spartans, the most recent being a 28-14 loss in East Lansing. Worth noting the streak started in Ann Arbor.
10/27 at Wisconsin Badgers, Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wisconsin. After being beaten two years in a row in East Lansing, Wisconsin looks to make it two straight over the Spartans after winning the rematch in Indianopolos 42-39. The Spartans have also lost three straight games on the last week of October for reasons unknown.
11/3 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Spartans look to avenge the other debacle last year in Lincoln, 24-3. To my knowledge, the Spartans have never beaten Nebraska.
11/10. Bye week
11/17. Northwestern Wildcats.
Spartans have won four straight over the Wilcats, including last year’s 31-17 victory in Evanston
11/24 at Minnesota Golden Gophers. TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Spartans have won two straight, including last year’s 31-24 near upset by the Gophers at Spartan Stadium
