When a Four-Year-Old Asked About Jesus!

One day at the local Christian Bible Book Store, I was just strolling around inside and came across this statue. When I saw it, my heart just ached, knowing the suffering that Jesus must have went through that day he was made to carry that cross while being beat down and scorned and praised by bystanders. But he never gave up. He continued to go for he knew he must do this to complete his spiritual journey. God is Father had a plan.

I purchased the small statue and have it sitting on my computer desk so when I sit down I see it every morning. I am filled with heartache and gladness at the same time when I see this statue. The heartache is from knowing what Jesus went through. The gladness is to know that Jesus gave is life and returned to cleanse anyone’s sins that asks for it.

It takes me back to the day I asked Jesus Christ to come back into my heart. Oh what a wonderful feeling that was. All my sins had been cast aside and I was born again. My wife followed suit not to long after wards. It’s amazing what memories just a little statue can bring back.

One evening my 4 year old Granddaughter was here and came in while I was blogging and asked me who the man was, pointing at Jesus. I put her on my knee and told her the story of how Jesus was God’s son and how he went around preaching God’s word, making the sick better and offering people an ever lasting life in the Kingdom of Heaven. I told her how the Jews and the Pharisees were against Jesus and wanted him caught and killed. She got up and said “that’s not nice to do to a nice man like that.’ Tears ran down my face when she said that. Even a 4 year old could understand what Jesus did was good.

If nothing else pleases me more of me being reminded of how Jesus suffered and how he died and came back to life for our sins and to be able to tell a 4 year old about Jesus and her to understand. That little statue is worth it’s weight in gold.
