Early Week 3 RB Rankings – Player Profiles and Stat Projections Will Be Posted Throughout the Week
Week 3 — QB Rankings — RB Rankings — WR Rankings — TE Rankings — D Rankings — Waiver Pickups — Matchup Picks
1. Ray Rice – Bal = @StL —– Rice is on a role and he is absolutely running the show for the Baltimore offense right now. Anything around 150 total yards seems likely, and a touchdown is easily within reach as well.
2. Chris Johnson – Ten = Den —– CJ2K hasn’t been his stud self so far this season, but a matchup at home against a weak Broncos defense could be the magic cure. Add in the Hasselbeck to Britt combo, and the running lanes for Johnson should be opening up real quick against defenses.
3. Rashard Mendenhall – Pit = @Ind —– The Colts team has fallen flat on their face after just two weeks, and Mendenhall should easily carve up the defense to the tune of 100-150 rushing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
4. Adrian Peterson – Min = Det —– The Detriot defense is stout, but Peterson will see his touches and so the yards will eventually add up by the end of the game.
5. LeSean McCoy – Phi = NYG —– Perhaps the new Jamaal Charles for the 2011 season, McCoy is a total yardage king who can easily rack up anything between 100-150 total yards no matter the matchup. This week is no different, and if Michael Vick is out, look for even more touches for McCoy in this game.
6. Michael Turner – Atl = @TB —– Turner finally put on the jets in last weeks game, and a matchup against a so so Buccaneers defense this week could easily result in another 100 rushing yards and 1 touchdown showing for Turner.
7. Matt Forte – Chi = GB —– A matchup against the Packers defense is no easy task, but after Jonathan Stewart racked up over 100 receiving yards against the Packers last week, Forte’s calling card should easily follow suit in this game. 100-150 total yards is within reach.
8. Darren McFadden – Oak = NYJ —– Not an easy matchup for McFadden and the Raiders offense, but I don’t want to be the person who bets against McFadden right now.
9. Frank Gore – SF = @Cin —– Perhaps this is the week Gore finally shows up.
10. Peyton Hillis – Cle = Mia —– STREP THROAT – WILL NOT PLAY —– After a very quite week 1 in which the naysayer’s showed up, Hillis bounced back with an excellent 2 touchdown game last week and gave a glimpse of hope that last seasons stats were not a fluke after all.
11. Fred Jackson – Buf = NE —– Hard to bet against Jackson and the Bills offense this week. Expecting another 100-150 total yards and 1 touchdown is a solid bet for Jackson in this game.
12. Beanie Wells – Ari = @Sea —– INJURY ? —– Beanie has been extremely solid over the first two weeks of the season, and a matchup against the Seattle defense is not the least bit scary for him. A touchdown is easily within reach, and 80-125 rushing yards seems reasonable to expect as well.
13. Ben Tate – Hou = @NO —– It looks like Tate will receive the majority of the playing time at RB in Houston this week, which means another game of hitting the 100 total yard plateau is easily within reach.
14. Mike Tolbert – SD = KC —– While Ryan Mathews has finally showed up in the Chargers backfield this season, the touchdown vulture is clearly Tolbert. A matchup against the lowly Chiefs defense could easily result in a 2 touchdown game for Tolbert this week.
15. Ahmad Bradshaw – NYG = @Phi —– Not a great matchup, but Bradshaw can tally yards no matter who the opponent is. 100 total yards seems like a safe bet, and anything more is absolutely possible.
16. Shonn Greene – NYJ = @Oak —– Solid matchup for the Jets offense, so perhaps a TD is on the horizon for the underachieving Greene this week.
17. Maurice Jones-Drew – Jac = @Car —– With QBs struggles in Jacksonville, Jones-Drew has seen defenses smother him and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see MJD once against struggle to rack up yards in this game as well.
18. Daniel Thomas – Mia = @Cle —– The rookie showed us. This weeks matchup is prime for Thomas to continue his success. Another 100 rushing yard performance is within reach.
19. Ryan Mathews – SD = KC —– Even though Mathews is sharing time with Tolbert, he is by far the yardage RB in the Chargers offense. A matchup against the lowly Chiefs has all the makings for Mathews to easily hit the 100 plus total yardage mark this week.
20. Jahvid Best – Det = @Min —– Just one of the weapons in the Lions potent offensive attack, Best could easily tally 100 total yards in this game.
21. Darren Sproles – NO = Hou
22. Jonathan Stewart – Car = Jac
23. Mark Ingram – NO = Hou
24. Tim Hightower – Was = @Dal
25. BenJarvus Green-Ellis – NE = @Buf
26. DeAngelo Williams – Car = Jac
27. Cedric Benson – Cin = SF
28. Montario Hardesty – Cle = Mia
29. Dexter McCluster – KC = @SD
30. LeGarrette Blount – TB = Atl
31. Thomas Jones – KC = @SD
32. Willis McGahee – Den = @Ten
33. Reggie Bush – Mia = @Cle
34. James Starks – GB = @Chi
35. LaDainian Tomlinson – NYJ = @Oak
36. Brandon Jacobs – NYG = @Phi
37. Arian Foster – Hou = @NO — injury ? —– The hamstring injury keeps lingering, and Ben Tate continues to put up yards. All in all, it is very tough to rely on and trust Foster in your starting lineup this week.
38. Steven Jackson – StL = Bal — injury ?
39. Knowshon Moreno – Den = @Ten — injury ?
40. Felix Jones – Dal = Was — injury ?
41. Pierre Thomas – NO = Hou
42. Ryan Grant – GB = @Chi
43. Marshawn Lynch – Sea = Ari
44. Joseph Addai – Ind = Pit
45. Deji Karim – Jac = @Car
46. Danny Woodhead – NE = @Buf
47. Javon Ringer – Ten = Den
48. Michael Bush – Oak = NYJ
49. CJ Spiller – Buf = NE
50. Ronnie Brown – Phi = NYG
51. Carnell Williams – StL = Bal — injury ?
52. Roy Helu – Was = @Dal
53. Delone Carter – Ind = Pit
54. Isaac Redman – Pit = @Ind
55. DeMarco Murray – Dal = Was
56. Leon Washington – Sea = Ari
57. Marion Barber – Chi = GB — injury ?
58. Justin Forsett – Sea = Ari
59. Ricky Williams – Bal = @StL
60. LaRod Stephens-Howling – Ari = @Sea — injury ?
61. Jason Snelling – Atl = @TB
62. Bernard Scott – Cin = SF
63. Toby Gerhart – Min = Det
64. Derrick Ward – Hou = @NO
65. John Kuhn – GB = @Chi
66. Johnny White – Buf = NE
67. Le’Ron McClain – KC = @SD
68. Donald Brown – Ind = Pit
69. Ryan Torain – Was = @Dal
70. Steve Slaton – Hou = @NO
71. Chester Taylor – Ari = @Sea
72. Joe McKnight – NYJ = @Oak
73. Jerome Harrison – Det = @Min
74. Jerious Norwood – StL = Bal
75. Keiland Williams – Det = @Min
76. Kendall Hunter – SF = @Cin
77. Dion Lewis – Phi = NYG
78. Marcel Reece – Oak = NYJ
79. Stevan Ridley – NE = @Buf
80. Shane Vereen – NE = @Buf
13. Jamaal Charles – KC = @SD — injury torn ACL out for the season
Say it ain’t so for a torn ACL.
