Loud-mouthed hip-hop star Kanye West has a busy fall ahead of him. He’s about to go on tour with Jay-Z promoting their new collaboration Watch the Throne. But what’s he up to in the meantime?
Role-Playing with Kim Kardashian
It’s not as racy as it sounds. The pair teamed up to film a pilot for a potential comedy puppet show that the “Gold Digger” rapper co-created, according to Us. In the video clip, Kim Kardashian wears a skimpy Princess Leia costume and the 34-year-old hip-hop star protects her from a naughty bear. Just another day in the wacky life of Kanye West.
Breaking iTunes Records
He collaborates with artists like Nicky Minaj on a regular basis, but none of West’s collaborations have been as successful as his new album with Jay-Z. On the weekend the album dropped, Watch the Throne broke the record for the biggest iTunes debut ever, according to MTV. The album sold almost 300,000 copies in one weekend. Kanye West may be wacky, but he knows how to sell some records.
Finishing Up His Tour
It seems like West loves to stay busy. The upcoming Watch the Throne tour was announced before he even finished up touring in support of his last album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He played the final night of that tour at Austin City Limits, and according to MTV, the “Stronger” rapper brought the house down.
Hitting London Fashion Week
West has been known to brag about his fashion sense (among other things), so it’s not surprising that he frequents fashion shows. This week, the stylish star turned up at London Fashion Week in the front row of the Burberry show, sitting with actresses Sienna Miller and Gemma Arterton, among other celebs, according to the Associated Press.
The Watch the Throne tour kicks off October 28th in Atlanta.
