Scents and Tastes

Mr. Donaldson, people always ask me where my inspiration comes from. For the record I am a heterosexual black man. I don’t know what’s more alarming, my sexuality or my personal hobby. The colors that were created for these blend so perfectly, wouldn’t you agree? How could someone not be fascinated at this miracle? The sensation that rises from the scent virtually clears out the idea this could even be possible. The lights glistens of the perfectly imperfect strands showing the nourishment that are conceived to keep all three full. Isn’t it beautiful?

Now back to the story of how I started doing this. I remember it being Sophie and I. Did that surprise you because of our separate personalities? It’s always been this way as far back as I can remember. She’s hot, and then I’m cold. She was great with coloring. Always had to be perfect. So you know what I did? I grabbed Mom’s metal scissors with the black handle and cut her pictures up. I think God has punished me for that. I’ve had arthritis for about three years in both hands. What are the odds of that? Sophie is ambidextrous. I told you we are total opposites. But I love her so much. Sophie, come here now and takes a break and chill with me for a minute.

I was telling the Donaldson Family how we started our business. Sophie took a deep stare into the back of her brother’s eyes as if she could read his mind. She took a deep breath, slightly leaned her head to the left and casually spoke, ” Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson, we were kids and Momma would put her heavy metal scissors right beside me when I was drawing and coloring. We must have been about eight years old. Anyways. Mrs. Donaldson, do you know what Mr. Terror did. “Now at this time Sophie’s 6 foot 4 brother with his 238 pounds of muscle frame stood tall and strong. His smile began to fall to the side as if he was ashamed of what his twin sister was about to say. She blurted out, “This guy went and cut flowers from Grandma garden. He did it everyday until there were only stems.” The Donaldson’s, Sophie and her brother began to laugh and were surprised because he was always at the register when they came to the florist shop.

The modest florist went on to say, “To make a long story short. I took a liking to captivating life’s beauty while Sophie kept drawing and coloring, hence the name of the company, “Scents and Tastes.” The four of them shared Sophie’s delicate edible flowers while Sophie spoke more about her brother’s mysterious yet rather simple life.
