Planning a Family Vacation Full of Adventure in Pigeon Forge, TN

We have been thinking about getting away on a family vacation which means taking everyone along. You have to ask yourself, how can we possibly afford this and find a place we are all going to like, especially going as a large group?

Let the Adventure Begin

No. I don’t mean the adventure that should take after we arrive at our vacation destination. I am talking about the adventure we are going to take which involves us first deciding where it is that will give us the most bang for our buck as well as the most fun for all. The very first thing we and you if you are considering planning your next family vacation would need to do is know your audience. What I mean by that is think about the likes and dislikes of the people that are coming with you.

If Momma Ain’t Happy Nobody’s Happy

I know they say, “If momma isn’t happy nobody’s happy,” but that is not really true. Momma is usually happy when the kiddies are happy and everybody is smiling and getting along. So when planning your next family vacation, think about the kids and their ages and where is somewhere you can bring them that is going to keep them busy and happy? If you are bringing younger kids, than something that will keep them physically busy will be better than something that requires laying around quietly and resting in the sunlight.

How Far Is Not Too Far To Travel

How much time you have available for this trip is also a factor. If you only have a three or four-day weekend and you are bringing kids, the most affordable solution is driving. Only put destinations on your short list that will allow you to get there within a few hours so the day you area leaving for vacation is also the day you arrive at your destination so you don’t loose a day in travel time.

Final Destination Decided

After writing a list of all the places we could go within a 2-hour drive the decision was made to go to Wilderness in the Smokies. When you decide on where you want to go, you can then research what is off peak times at that place and you can normally get a reduced rate for going at that time. Also, check out what deals they have for children eating free under 12 as well as free admissions to other local activities in that area. Most of the resorts offer them. Wilderness in the Smokies has an indoor-outdoor water park; a miniature golf course and kids under 12 eat for free. They also give you some complimentary tickets into other attractions and events in the Smokey Mountains.

Vacation Time
At this type of vacation spot, the children, parents and grandparents can all have a great time making memories and sharing fun. The kids can play in the water park pools while the adults relax around the pool. There is an abundance of things to do and see in the Smokey Mountains so the kids should never be bored. This should be a win win for all vacation goers. See you in the Smokey Mountains.
