No One Knows What to Expect from Johnny Miller and Nick Flado at Hyundai Tournament of Champions: A Fan’s Take

COMMENTARY | Watching Johnny Miller with Nick Faldo, as they provide commentary together for the PGA Tour’s season opener, is like mixing two unknown chemicals together. This duo is providing the commentary, or perhaps better said, the entertainment, for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions from the Plantation Course at Kapalua, Hawaii.

From the Plantation Course at Kapalua, Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo could create an entirely new, great phenomenon. Or, they could explode. No one really knows what to expect from these golf legends. With regards to their role at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, Johnny Miller said, “It will be interesting to see if this ends up in a mild fist fight, or it ends up in a big brother-little brother kind of thing.”

Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo entered the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1998, but that is about all they have in common. Johnny Miller is an American known for his remarks, as much as he is known for his PGA success. Nick Faldo was a meticulous player from Britain and rarely does anything without first contemplating it.

Golfers are interested in Johnny Miller’s and Nick Faldo’s insights at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. From the Plantation Course at Kapalua, each will see things that their partner missed. They bring two very different styles of play to the broadcast booth. However, the real question is how are Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo interacting with each other while watching players on the Plantation Course at Kapalua?

Even non-golfers should tune into the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course at Kapalua from Jan. 6-9 to listen to Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo. Outsiders view golf as a game for gentlemen and ladies, where participants and spectators adhere to strict rules of politeness. I am sure Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo will not be inconsiderate to the golfers on the Plantation Course at Kapalua. I am listening for their comments toward each other during the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Even if the Hyundai Tournament of Champions becomes uninteresting to me, I will listen to the broadcasters’ comments about the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Listening to Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo from the Plantation Course at Kapalua could be funnier than my favorite sitcoms. I just wish I could hear their off-air comments during the Hyundai Tournament of Champion’s commercials.

The audio from Plantation Course at Kapalua is just as good as the play at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo are providing the best comments of this year’s PGA broadcasters.
