NFL Spread Picks – Week 13

Welcome to NFL Spread Picks – Week 13.

Week 12 results: (12-9). Overall: (60-45-3).
I sincerely hope that you’ve gotten aboard the bandwagon and you’re making big bucks!
This is how I see week 13 playing out. Let’s roll!

Home teams in Bold.

Philadelphia -3 vs. Seattle
The collective scream coming out of Philadelphia is that Coach Reid must go! Oddly enough, he hasn’t played a single down this season. Dissension among the players is a cancer. The ‘Dream Team’ is living a nightmare. The good thing is they’re playing Seattle, who Washington just beat by 6 points. Take Philadelphia -3 pts.

Buffalo -1.5 vs. Tennessee
Chris Johnson is hitting his stride for Tennessee and the Titans defense is more sound than Buffalo’s. Spiller filled in nicely for the Bills but their offense is inconsistent. Take Tennessee +1.5 pts. Pray for good weather and take the over 43 pts.

Chicago -8 vs. Kansas City
I expect K. Orton to play for Kansas City; interestingly enough he returns to Chicago where he spent a few years early in his career. The Bears are tough at home. M. Forte should run wild. Look for K. Orton to be rusty. Take Chicago -8 pts. In a defensive game where both teams will try and run the ball take the under 37 pts.

Miami -3 vs. Oakland
Miami’s defense looks solid but the Raiders seem to find a way to score, they don’t depend upon their defense to win games. Take Oakland +3 pts. And take the over 43 pts.

Pittsburgh -7 vs. Cincinnati
Cincinnati always seems to play inspired ball against Pittsburgh. The Bengals are a game behind Pittsburgh and Baltimore in their division. If the Bengals come out flat I’d be shocked. Take Cincinnati +7 pts.

New York Jets -3.5 vs. Washington
I say this with a lump in my throat, ‘R. Grossman is a better quarterback than M. Sanchez’. The Redskins play with more purpose when Grossman is under center. I believe the Jets are fraudulent. Take Washington +3 pts.

Atlanta -2.5 vs. Houston
Third-stringer T.J. Yates now takes the helm for Houston after Leinart broke his collarbone. Look for defenses to put eight men in the box when they face Houston and force them to pass the ball. Atlanta on the other hand can both run and pass the ball, they’re multi-dimensional. Take Atlanta -2.5 pts.

Tampa Bay -3 vs. Carolina
Carolina’s defense reeks! J. Freeman of the Bucs will move the ball against the Panthers enough to cover 3 points on a last minute drive. Plus, Freeman needs to redeem himself after last week’s embarrassing fumble late in the game. Take Tampa Bay -3 pts.

Minnesota (pick ‘em) vs. Denver
Denver is confident and rolling, Minnesota, not so much. Even if A. Peterson plays how effective will he be with that high ankle sprain? The Viking secondary is so decimated that even T. Tebow can complete passes. Take Denver. The Denver defense has allowed 13 points or fewer the last three weeks. Take the under 37.5 pts.

New England -21 vs. Indianapolis
Stepping on ants quickly becomes boring. T. Brady should get some rest in the second half of this game and with that porous Patriot defense the Colts might even score three times, after all this is the NFL where anything can happen. I’m going out on a limb: take Indianapolis +21 pts.

Baltimore -6.5 vs. Cleveland
The Ravens played last Thursday, they’re more rested, and Ray Lewis should play this week. I also have a few razors in the drawer that should be thrown away because they’re dull, the Ravens are like that too; you never know what degree of sharpness you’re going to get. I would hope the Ravens come to play. Take Baltimore -6.5 pts.

San Francisco -13.5 vs. Saint Louis
The Rams need to run the ball but San Francisco won’t let them. The 49ers lost on Thanksgiving Day to Baltimore so they’ll be extra grouchy this week. Take San Francisco -13.5 pts.

Dallas -4 vs. Arizona
Beanie Wells ran for 150+ yards last week and Skelton or Kolb should be able to move the sticks against an uninspired Dallas team. However, Dallas is much more talented and rested since they played last Thursday. Take Dallas -4 pts. And take the over 46 pts.

Green Bay -6.5 vs. New York Giants
The Giants are the last team on the Packer schedule with any real shot of defeating them and spoiling their perfect season. The Packers know it and got a good look at the Giant’s weak spots on defense last Monday night. Take Green Bay -6.5 pts.

New Orleans -7.5 vs. Detroit
In their last 6 games Detroit is 2-4. I get the sense the wheels are falling off. Backup running back K. Smith was carted off the field last Thursday. D. Sproles of the Saints is like a water bug, you can’t catch him. Take New Orleans -7.5 pts. And take the over 54 pts.

San Diego -2.5 vs. Jacksonville
They can re-schedule games but not Monday-nighters I guess. The spiritless Chargers fly cross-country to take on the lackluster Jaguars. B. Gabbert was benched last week for Jacksonville. Look for Maurice Jones-Drew to run hard and keep it close. Take Jacksonville +2.5 pts.
