J.R. Martinez Scored the First Two Perfect 30’s of the Season, on Instant Dance Week on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

It’s coming down to the wire on “Dancing With The Stars.” Five stars are left and the dances are becoming more difficult. This week, the stars had to perform two individual dances, one regular dance and one instant dance. They know that the instant dance will be a jive. What they don’t know is the music they will be dancing to until minutes before performance time. This means they will have to adapt their moves and only have about twenty minutes to practice.

How did the dancers do? Who led the scoring board at the end? Who was the bottom? Will the scores prove who will be in the final four?

Here is a brief recap of the each dance, in order of performance:

Rob Karashian and Cheryl Burke: They performed a Quick Step. Judge Len stated that it was his best dance so far. Judge Carrie Ann stated that he grew, he grew, he grew. “Tonight, he was polished. They received a score of 27.

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: They performed a Quick Step. Judge Bruno stated: “Rebooted. Reenergized. You’re best dance, yet.” Judge Carrie Ann gave Hope a hug and then stated that they were in sync. They received a score of 27.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: They performed a Waltz. Judge Carrie Ann stated that there was a little stumble at the end. Judge Len stated that it was beautifully executed all the way through. They received a score of 28.

Nancy Grace and Triston McManus: They performed a Waltz. Judge Len stated that it was well done. Judge Carrie Ann stated that she loved her spirit. She also said that what she did tonight was very clean and very sharp. They received as score of 24.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: They performed a Waltz. Judge Bruno stated that the dance was a musical Valentine Card. He made beautiful music. Judge Carrie Ann stated that something happen in the middle that was magic. They received a perfect score of 30, the first one of the season!

The Instant Jive:

Rob Karashian And Cheryl Burke danced to the song: “Maneater.” Judge Len stated that there were no glaring mistakes. He also stated that he needed to flick a little bit more. Judge Bruno stated that his arms are getting better. They received a score of 24, which gave them a total score of 51.

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced to the song: “The Best Damn Thing.” Judge Bruno stated that she looked like a wild child. He added that she needed to stretch the back of her knees. Judge Carrie Ann stated that there was definite improvement since the last time she did the jive. They received a score of 25, which gave them a total of 52.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough danced to the song of: “Land of 1000 Dances.” Judge Carrie Ann stated that there were a few, little stop and stars. Judge Len stated that it was good. They received a score of 24, which gave them a total of 52.

Nancy Grace and Triston McManus danced to the song of “Upside Down.” Judge Len stated that its midnight and it’s time to go home. Judge Bruno stated that it has to be sharp. It has to be tight. It was too laid back and loose. They received a score of 22, which gave them a total of 44.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced to the song “Tutti Frutti.” Judge Bruno stated: “JR, you went off like a rocket. Your timing was impeccable. Judge Carrie Ann stated that you are in a class all your own. Nobody can come close to you, tonight. Judge Len stated that he has the X Factor and the feel good factor. They received another perfect score of 30, which gave them a total of 60.

This means that J.R. Martinez led the leader board for the night and Nancy Grace fell to the bottom. Now we are left wondering who will be eliminated and which four will be able to say that they made it to the semi-finals.
