How to Decorate for a Jungle/Safari Themed Baby Shower

Throwing a baby shower can be a lot of fun. It also can be overwhelming for the hostess. There are many things to think about when it comes to having a great baby shower and pleasing the guests. The most important part, is making it memorable for the mom-to-be. You need to consider the guests invited, food, decorations, favors, and so much more! Here are some great tips and ideas that will help you to throw the best Jungle/Safari themed baby shower.

Boy or Girl- First off, is if it is a boy or girl. This is a big factor when it comes to the jungle/safari theme for the shower. Though the colors are mostly neutral, you will want to incorporate some blue if its a boy and pink if its a girl. There are many places to do this throughout the baby shower. Mom can wear either one of the colors of pink or blue, or both if its twins of the opposite gender. Favors can have blue candy or blue ribbons if its a boy. Plastic silverware can be pink for a girl. Include a pink or blue rattle stamp on the invitations. There are so many places to add the gender colors to specify what mom is having.

Invitations- When it comes to the invitations, it is a very important part of your theme and for mom. Invitations don’t just invite the guests, but also become a keepsake for the mom-to-be. So make them special. A invitations for the baby shower I threw, was hand made. The invite was for a boy, but could have worked for either or. You will want to make a list of who the mom wants to come first. Then make a list of supplies to make the invitations.

You Will Need:

Dark Brown Card Stock- 8 by 11( each sheet will be 2 invitations worth)

Light Green Card Stock with leaves imprinted on it(same amount as brown)

Safari/Jungle Stamps(with animals)

Stamp Pads(Brown, Gold, Light Brown)

Ribbon in Darker Orange and Green

Glue Sticks

Scissors or paper cutter

Ruler

Hole Punch

A printer with Black Ink

Now all you have to do is cut the Brown card stock in half. Then take the leave print card stock and cut it to be about 2 inches smaller round the edges then the brown. On your computer, or you can write, Get all the information put on the green card stock. Now, glue to the brown card stock. Stamp a animal on the bottom left side. Punch two hole at the top of the invitations. Make a bow with the ribbons at the top. These invitations are so cute and fun to make. They will not be folded or put in envelopes(unless the guest is from out of town).

Choosing food- Food is a yummy part about a baby shower. For your jungle/safari theme you will want the food to match. Choose foods like fruit, nuts, fruit punch, kabobs, stuffed mushrooms, etc. These foods are easy, finger foods and the guests will love. Be sure to add decorative leaves and other decorations to the dishes. Choose a cake or cupcakes that have or are animals. With Jungle trees.

Decorations- This is a fun part of the jungle/safari themed baby shower. Items to use are some brown crinkle paper, brown and green balloons and streamer, and more. A fun idea is to make a tree, I used my wood stove as a base for the tree. It stretched out to the middle of my living room. All you need is two shades of green balloons as leaves. Brown streamer, and we chose to use blue and light blue streamer to make a waterfall behind the tree. It looks awesome. Another idea, you can get white Christmas lights around the main part of your baby shower. I dimmed my house and put them all around the living room. Add candles in your colors. You can add blue or pink confetti to the table tops and floor. There are endless ideas.

These are a few fun and easy ideas to get you started. It is a great theme and is perfect for surprise babies, boys or girls. Have fun with it and don’t forget the ideas can be endless!
