How Pandora Won Over an iTunes Enthusiast

As a fierce lover of music, having access to my favorite tunes is important to me. I used to be a loyal iTunes customer. When people asked me what to fill my Christmas stocking with, I asked for iTunes cards. That is, until I was introduced to Pandora. Now my iTunes days are over. Here is a look at how Pandora won me over within five minutes, and why I never looked back.

Customizable Functions Make Pandora Stand Out

The thing that I love most about Pandora is its customizable functions. I type in the type of music or the band I want to listen to and it begins to play music along the same vein. The first time I tuned into Pandora, I listened for an hour without hitting the skip something. Being the fussy music fan that I am, that is really saying something. Pandora has managed to do the impossible and make me a fan of internet radio.

Option to Purchase

Another great function that Pandora offers is the option to purchase a song that you’ve just listened to. If I hear a song I enjoy, such as “What the Water Gave Me,” by Florence and the Machine, all that I need to do is push the purchase button, the song downloads and it’s all mine.

Pandora Goes Everywhere I Go

Pandora is available on most of my electronic gadgets including my desktop computer at work, my laptop at home and best of all, my Blackberry. I can plug into Pandora wherever I go, and I don’t have to worry about downloading albums or tracks; all my favorite tunes will be there for me when I plug in.

Bye Bye, iTunes…

Within five minutes of listening to Pandora, I had decided that iTunes had met its match and I found a new resource for music. I liked how you could connect with friends to see what songs they were enjoying. Since I’ve been introduced to Pandora, I’ve felt that iTunes was a thing of the past. Pandora helps me get through my work day, boring nights at home, and is customizable, so it never gets old.
