Thinking of my favorite movie for 2011 was one of the easiest things I have ever had to do. There is only one movie that stands a chance of being deemed as a favorite and it is Harry Potter and the deathly hallows Part Two. This was the perfect ending to an amazing series; there is nothing that could have made this movie any better.
The time has come for the battle everyone has waited for since Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone. The battle between good and evil, the battle between Harry and Voldemort. Voldemort has killed many people to get his strength up to defeat “the boy that lived”. Harry has learned a lot on the journey to vanquish the monster that killed his parents. Though Harry must fight Voldemort alone he was not by himself on this journey. Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley were by his side the whole way.
The only way to defeat Voldemort is to destroy the horcruxes that he attached parts of his soul to. In order to destroy them all Harry had to return to Hogwarts to find the last one. Returning to Hogwarts to let Voldemort know Harry was done running and it was time to end the war. Going back to Hogwarts also put all the Innocent students and staff in harms way but they stood their ground and vowed to help Harry. That did not mean they would not die because some did including one of Ron’s older brothers and Professor Snape.
The battle between Voldemort and Harry was the best part of the movie; it went on for what felt like hours. While Harry was fighting the Dark Lord; Hermione and Ron were scrambling to find a way to destroy the last horcruxe. The last horcruxe lied in the serpent Voldemort kept by his side. Neville Longbottom really stepped up in this movie he kicked but and looked good while he was doing it. He jumped in front of the large serpent and chopped its head off thus destroying the last of Voldemorts soul. Then Harry Potter killed Voldemort, the dark lord.
It also shows where their lives are a few years down the road, which I thought was something cool to do. Ron and Hermione are married with a few kids, Harry and Ginny (Rons little sister) are also married with a few kids as well..
