Any kind of contest could be played, but just make sure you stand behind what you say. If you offer something and then back down, that is a sure fire way of losing your customers or fans.

Send email to your friends and remind them about your fan page. Tell them the latest happenings with the fan page. If you are running contests, tell them about the contests in the email. If you are giving away free things, tell them about that also. In other words, keep them informed with what is going on.
Acknowledge Your Fans
Another thing you can do to draw people to your fans page is acknowledge them. By this I mean, talk to them and interact with them. Comment on their posts, email them and just interact with them. Letting them know that you are a real friend is a great way to draw them to your page.
Create A Website
The last tip in this guide is creating a website. Let me explain this one. When you create a fan page on Facebook, you will have a long url. It is hard to advertise a page with a url that long. So, what you can do is create a website with a short url and redirect the home page to the Facebook fan page. That way you can advertise the website with the short url and when people go to it, they will be redirected to the fan page on Facebook.
