Great Educational Shows for Young Children

There are a vast variety of children’s educational shows available on television. Choosing a few that are quality in content is very tricky at times. Television gets a lot of bad media attention surrounding it unfortunately when it comes to children. However there are many lessons that young children can learn from good quality educational shows.

Sesame Street has been on air for many years. The reason it has run a long time is that it is a good educational show. Young children learn their letters and numbers in a fun exciting fashion. They also learn the concepts of spelling which is very important when starting school. Clifford the Big Red Dog is a great show for the teaching of young children as well. The young children when watching Clifford are learning primarily about making friends and being nice to one another. The show focuses on helping people out and being nice to your friends. Often time Emily and Clifford will help out their friends in some sort of way and problem solve.

Dragon Tales is another wonderful show for learning about making friends and sharing. The dragons will get themselves in a situation where they will have to help out their friends and learn to share. Word World is another entertaining and educational show for young children. During this show, your children will be engaged in word building and recognition. The words are alive in the show. The children have a picture to relate to, so this makes the experience more memorable. Barney is a standard that every young child should watch. There are many lessons to be learned from Barney. The show teaches about being positive as well as being nice to your friends. Throughout the show the kids will also sing songs about letters and numbers. The children in the show are fun and engaging. The songs and dancing makes the show exciting for young children.

The educational shows that are available for the children are much more animated and able to engage the children for longer. The shows are teaching multiple lessons within the shows that are being intertwined with songs and dancing. Unfortunately, the television for children is making parents Leary of letting their children watch. Personally I let my children watch these shows and they learn a lot from them. They are perfect for the younger children of the ages of two on up until six or seven.
