Goofiest Christmas Decorations in Chicago

If you’re looking for the goofiest holiday decorations in Chicago, well, good luck with all that. While I managed to come across a nice collection of Christmas decorations from the well thought out to chuckle-worthy, I couldn’t find anything that I felt was truly “goofy.” That said, I still think you’ll have some kind of reaction to what I did find, whether it’s a smile, a chuckle or an “uh, what the heck is that?” Here’s what I found (in words), then you can scroll through the images to see if you can make a match. Hey, just have fun with it and uh, Have a Merry Christmas!!!

Bright Christmas Inflatables
Head west on Addison to Damen. Go south on Damen maybe a block or so) and keep your eyes peeled. You’ll find a collection of bright colored Christmas inflatables on display at street level. You can walk right up and snap a picture with them without trespassing. Seriously, it really is ok.

Taz and his Friends
Continue driving down Damen past Belmont, and just before you reach Wellington you’ll run right into the Tasmanian Devil (tongue hanging out and all) and his friends. I guess this might be considered a little goofy, but it’s more cute than anything. The kids will love it!

Flat Santa Falling
Next up, head east on Wellington to find a flattened Santa dangling from a light-covered balcony. Did he fall once, get flattened, and try to climb back up again? Not to sure why he chose this route, but it is what it is!

The rest of the images were taken in the same areas (Hamlin Park and Roscoe Village). You’ll find a Happily Obese, but Well Dressed Snowman, Dancing Lights in the Attic, and a light display that was just Too Darn Pretty to pass up. Feel free to drive (or walk) around to see if you can find them. Hamlin Park and Roscoe Village are chock full of gorgeous Christmas decorations and it’s not crowded so you can take your time and explore. Even if you don’t find what I found here, you’re sure to find something that’s worthy of a picture.
