To the teacher: Vocabulary lists are a standard in the ESL classroom. One way to enrich the simple “read it, say it, memorize it” vocabulary list is to add questions to the items contained in a vocabulary lis. The key is to create questions that students can answer only through self-reflection or by observing or talking to their classmates.
Below is an example. To use this worksheet in your class, replace the names with your own students’ names. Note that some questions require observation; others, student-to-student conversation; still others, a sense of humor.
