Easy to Make Crocheted Bathmat Pattern

Keep your feet both clean and warm when you step out of the shower or bath onto a soft homemade crocheted bathmat. The bathmat is made from cotton yarn so it is machine washable. The variety of colors available in cotton yarn allows a homemade bathmat the versatility to match any color décor.

Things You’ll Need:

18 small balls of cotton yarn
Size J/10/6mm crochet hook
Scissors

Pattern Instructions:

Row 1 – Chain 64 stitches. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and each stitch across. Turn.

Row 2 and 3 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the back loop of each stitch across. Turn.

Row 4 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the next stitch. Complete one treble crochet around the post of the single crochet stitch two rows down. This keeps the top of the treble crochet even with the top of the single crochet stitches within the row. Single crochet in the back loop of the stitch then treble crochet around the post of the single crochet stitch two rows down – repeat pattern until the end of the row. Turn.

Row 5 – Chain 1 stitch. Treble stitch around the post of the single crochet stitch two rows down then single crochet in the back loop of the next stitch – repeat pattern across row. Turn.

Row 6 through ? – Alternate completing the instructions for Step 4 and 5 until the crocheted bathmat is 18-inches wide. The amount of rows will depend on the tightness of the stitch. Add more width if desired.

Last row – Chain 1. Single crochet across the row and finish.

Add a single crochet border around the edge of the bathmat with a complimentary color of cotton yarn.
