As summer winds down and the back to school ads begin to fill your inbox, we all know that fall is just around the corner. With the changing of the leaves comes some not to be missed arts and crafts festivals in Northeast Ohio.
The 39th Annual Yankee Peddler Festival is held across 75 acres at Clay’s Park in Canal Fulton, OH. From pioneer era booths with crafting demonstrations, delicious food ranging from apple dumplings to ox roast sandwiches and over 100 craft vendor tents, there is something for everyone. Jewelry, pottery, metalworking, furniture and gourmet foods are just a small sampling of what you’ll see.
Yankee Peddler is held September 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tickets at the gate are $10.00 for adults (ages 12-59), $3.00 for children (ages 6-11) and $9.00 for seniors (ages 60 and above); children 5 and under are free. The 45th Annual Ohio Mart is a juried art show with more than 125 artisans represented. It is at the majestic Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, OH, held each year to raise funds for the management and restoration of the estate. Get pleasure from the beautifully manicured gardens, the watercolor of changing autumn leaves and enjoy fresh gingerbread while you tour the outdoor, tented event. Unique, handcrafted holiday items, jewelry, sculptures and more will be represented.
Ohio Mart takes place from September 29th through October 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on October 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ticket prices are not currently available. Please visit Stan Hywet for additional details.
The 21st Annual Barberton Mum Fest is most known for its stunning mum displays, this year showcasing more than 20,000 mums in 21 varieties. Visitors to the Mum Fest will also be treated to music, food vendors, sand sculpting, canoe races on Lake Anna and of course arts and crafts galore.
The Barberton Mum Fest is held at Lake Anna Park in Barberton on September 24th and September 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free and potted mums will be available for sale. Please go to City of Barberton for more specifics.
The 37th Annual Holiday Mart features over 190 professional crafters and artists. It is located at the Summit County Fairgrounds Arena in Tallmadge, OH. A wide assortment of items including paintings, jewelry, candles, wreaths and more will be available for sale, just in time for holiday gift giving. Holiday Mart will be November 12th and 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Tickets are $4.00 on Saturday and $3.00 on Sunday.
The Avant Garde Fall Art & Craft Show will present over 65 vendors and is full of local Northeast Ohio artisans. Unique to this show is a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the North East Ohio Make-a-Wish Foundation. The show will be at the Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Parma, OH on October 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is free to the public. For more information, see Avant-Garde Shows.
