2012 Outfielder (OF) Sleepers

Logan Morrison – Mia – OF (24)

Considered one of the more underachieving players in the majors during the 2011 season, Morrison quietly put up a solid 23 home runs and 72 rbi during his first full season in the majors. The major downside to Morrison’s stat line was his .247 batting average, however this low batting average is not likely to be a trend, so the upside for Morrison entering the 2012 season should be considered fairly high. With the ability to hit 30 home runs and 90 rbi, Morrison has plenty of potential to be a super sleeper pick midway through fantasy baseball drafts in 2012.

2011 Major League Stats: 462 AB, 54 R, 23 HR, 72 RBI, 2 SB, .247 AVG

2012 Stat Projections: 80 R, 28 HR, 90 RBI, 2 SB, .285 AVG

Brennan Boesch – Det – OF (26)

Breaking out of the gates to begin the 2011 season, Boesch quickly racked up 12 home runs, 22 doubles, and a .306 batting average over the first 84 games before the All-Star break last season. Unfortunately everything went downhill for Boesch during the second half the season, as he showed virtually no power and hit a terrible .219 batting average over his last 114 at bats to finish out the 2011 season. Yet with a proven power hitting track record, and a starting spot in the outfield his for the taking, Boesch could easily top the 25 home run mark during the 2012 season.

2011 Major League Stats: 428 AB, 75 R, 16 HR, 54 RBI, 5 SB, .283 AVG

2012 Stat Projections: 80 R, 25 HR, 85 RBI, 5 SB, .280 AVG

Jose Tabata – Pit – OF (23)

After turning in a solid rookie season in 2010, Tabata entered the 2011 season with growing expectations to lead the Pirates offensive attack. And while Tabata started the 2011 season looking like a breakout candidate, he eventually went into a slide at the plate and eventually dealt with injuries over the second half of the season that limited him to just 20 games played. Now entering the 2012 season fully healthy and ready to become the Pirates everyday leadoff hitter, Tabata is poised to rack up 30 stolen bases, while also tallying a good amount of runs scored and a solid batting average.

2011 Major League Stats: 334 AB, 53 R, 4 HR, 21 RBI, 16 SB, .266 AVG

2012 Stat Projections: 80 R, 5 HR, 40 RBI, 30 SB, .290 AVG
