As far as your scale goes, it’s not very useful to give terms to IQs. You’re defining something you don’t understand with terms that you probably don’t have well-defined meanings for. IQ scores are based on a bell curve, not on a linear sca…

How to get the full IQ score from Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – IV?
Q: I have the scaled scores of the ten core subtests from the local school system. All scores are between 10 and 20. One scaled score is 19. How can I get the full IQ score? For edition III, the ceiling score is 160, but didn’t find what is the new ceiling score for edition IV – the new edition has increased the ceiling score is for sure.http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/about_sb5_wisc-iv.htm – tells the new WISC – IV increased the ceiling. Also WISC – IV intergrated has the ceiling -160, but it is not an IQ test. Thanks for response. Did u notice the 1st sentence:”I like the new WISC-IV’s increased ceiling; the test offers additional harder questions at the upper ends of a number of subtests”. Where did you see the ceiling is 160. I’ll keep searching …great, u might know how to get the FULL IQ from the 10 core subtests scaled score:A,B,C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J. All these numbers are between 13 and 19. I do not have the raw score. The other numbers I have are the standard deviation values. Thanks.
A: The ceiling score on the WISC-IV is still 160. If you have scaled scores from 10 to 20 then you’re anywhere from average to very superior. If you honestly think that you’re going to ceiling out (I’ve never seen it done in years) take the Stanford Binet. It provides a higher ceiling. In response, I am not talking about the integrated test. I checked your link you’re talking about. I believe they are talking about higher ceilings on individual subtests (Having to get 5 rather than 4 incorrect in order for a subtest to be stopped) rather than an overall higher Full Scale IQ. I’m looking at my WISC-IV and I’m telling you that the ceiling is 160. If you can find some information to the alternative then please respond with a link because it would interest me as to where they are getting their information. In response, I think that is self-explanatory. The subtests have higher ceilings, ie. must get more wrong before the subtest ceilings out, therefore the examinee will have a better chance of getting to those tougher questions towards the end of the subtests. There are two types of ceilings. The first type is the one I believe they are talking about and that refers to the “stop testing” point for each subtest. The other ceiling refers to the overall IQ and index composite scores. I think you’re getting the two mixed up. In regards to the info about the WISC topping at 160, I found it in my WISC-IV manual. I’m a school psychologist so I have the test materials right next to me. Hope this helps.
Do you know an accurate IQ scale?
Q: I scored 126 on an IQ test, which I just obtained the results from. Just want to compare my score to a reputable scale. Thank you much!!
A: An IQ of 126 would place you in the gifted category. 90-109 is considered average.A word of caution, however is in necessary. IQ tests taken on line are worthless since they are for entertainment purposes and are invalid and unreliable. If you want an accurate IQ score take it through your school or a qualified psychologist.”Lewis Terman (1916) developed the original notion of IQ and proposed this scale for classifying IQ scores:Over 140 – Genius or near genius 120 – 140 – Very superior intelligence 110 – 119 – Superior intelligence 90 – 109 – Normal or average intelligence 80 – 89 – Dullness 70 – 79 – Borderline deficiency Under 70 – Definite feeble-mindedness” Quote From: http://www.wilderdom.com/intelligence/IQWhatScoresMean.html
