I have unspecified st depression does this mean I will get heart disease in the future?
Q: I had an ultrasound stress test and everything was normal. I use to jog a lot but after finding out that I have unspecified st depressions on my ekg reading I have been scared to do anything strenous. Should I be worried about this at all? Does this mean I am more proned to heart disease in the future? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
A: Patients have ST depression/elevation for a variety of reasons…certain meds can cause a “swoop” of the ST, and marked difference of the ST can signify damage to a part of the heart, usually from a MI(myocardial infarction, or heart attack)…but Unspecified ST doesn’t necessarily signify anything. Unless your Doctor or Cardiologist has told you otherwise, strenuous activities shouldn’t be much of a problem. Of all of the things that could be abnormal on an EKG, this is one of the minor ones, especially since it is unspecified, or non-specific as it is sometimes referred to.Good Luck!
What does convection, advection, fronts and depression mean?
Q: Ok, i can look them up on dictonary.com but i’m in a hurry! ps, the words have something to do with the waeather i think. Don’t just type rubbish. please
A: Convection is the transfer of heat by currents within a fluid. It may arise from temperature differences either within the fluid or between the fluid and its boundary, which would affect density. In meteorology and physical oceanography, advection usually refers to the predominantly horizontal transport of an atmospheric property or oceanic fluid by the wind, e.g. moisture or heat advection. Weather front is, in meteorology, a boundary between two air masses with differing characteristics (e.g., air temperature or humidity).Depression is an area of low atmospheric pressure associated with cyclones and weather fronts.
Prozac pushed me to mania does this mean i have manic depression?
Q: I was initially placed on Fluoxetine (i have previously been on it about 3 yrs ago) and it pushed me into mania, so i was prescribed Remeron (mirtazepine) and they have been working very well and i feel great. Because the Fluoxetine pushed me into a manic stage does this mean i have bipolar? Im slightly confused ccause ive read that this is often a sign of manic depression?
A: Zoloft pushed me into a mild mania for about four months. Medication-induced mania does not automatically mean you have Bipolar. Researchers still argue as to whether or not there is a “predisposition” to Bipolar on those who go manic on an antidepressant. The DSM-IV, the “bible” of the American Psychiatric Association, rules out Bipolar Disorder if it is induced by a medication. An unofficial diagnosis of Bipolar IV, not on the DSM-IV, is sometimes used to describe people who *may* have some Bipolarity but have not demonstrated and organic type of the illness not brought on by medications.People on ecstasy or cocaine can become manic and experience the highs of mania without being bipolar. This reason is why Bipolar is not considered such unless there is proof that a person demonstrates mania or hypomania without artificial drugs whether legal or illegal.
