I have been kinda tired lately but when I try to go to sleep at night, I have trouble going to sleep?
Q: I have been kinda tired lately but when I go to sleep at night I kinda have trouble. What do you think this is and do you have any suggestions?
A: First we all need regular sleeping pattern! It could be 7pm to 5am, but we are individuals so we do not all sleep the same amount of hours and our sleep cycle could be diverse. However if we do not get sleep, we end up tired. The problem seems to be you have a set sleep time, say 10pm, so off to bed and then you cannot fall asleep, eventually sleep at midnight, but are up at the same time say 7am. Therefore, you are tired. The question is how to go to bed at 10pm and go to sleep! In order to induce sleep, you have to be physically tired, usually exercise will do this and then mentally tired, so you also need to exercise your brain. If you are just physically tired, then you go to bed, rest the body and the brain says, yippee time for me to play and off it goes, downloading all kinds of problems. So you need to find a book that you really hate, that you find ‘boring’ and start to force yourself to read it. Guarantee you, within three pages you will fall asleep, as the brain thinks, ‘this is hard work’ and goes to sleep. Best of Luck

A: 1- stop intake of caffeine at or before noon so it can work out of your body.2-moderate exercise 1-2 hours before bed, to wear you out and have time to lower heart rate after wards.3- take a warm shower before bed (not cold, not hot) to relax the muscles4- drink something warm like {A} warm milk with a touch of cinnamon and dollop of vanilla or {B} chamomile tea with a drizzle of honey5- do not watch TV 1 hour prior to bed time (especially wrestling cuz that will get your heart rate up)6- lie down in a completely dark room, you can get thick shades for your window that are a little bit wider so they cover any gaps.7- try a noise machine. They have more than white noise now. I like the whale songs setting. It gets rid of outside noises and gives an easy background to sleep to.8- no eating 2 hours before bedtime. the food is still not completely digested at that point so it can cause stomach discomfort which can mess with your sleep. It should work for a while until you have yourself straightened out.Don’t let the bed bugs bite!
