Q: im doing an essay is the american dream still possible. Could someone give me some reasons why it is not possible today in our society. plz don’t tell that it is possible cause i already picked that it isn’t and there are reasons for both.musica i agree with you, i too belive that american dream is possible if one is willing to work for it but the teacher gave us this article that says american dream is not possible and all this information of why it is not and told us we have to use information from the article or we fail. So even if i wanted to choose american Dream is possible i can’t for that reason and just needed some reasons why it is not possible.
A: The laws and philosophy of the nation has changed over the years. There use to be a time when we actually encouraged competition between our companies. It kept prices low, wages decent, and almost anyone could start a business with very little start up capital. Today, we discourage competition by requiring huge sums of money just for licenses and legal fees that the entrepreneurial spirit is gone. We no longer tell our children they can be whatever they want to be. We tell them to go to school and get a good job.Debt used to be considered bad. When Reagan took office in the 80’s all of a sudden debt became ok and he used it to spark the economy. Even the business community changed it’s philosophy about debt and the 80’s saw the rise of LBO and 100%+ financing. Now we are beginning to feel the results of all the decisions that were made back then with companies filing bankruptcy and billionaires committing suicide because of the massive debt they’re in.It used to be a time when if you had talent, someone would discover you. You may have to struggle for a while but eventually, someone would give you a shot. Now more than ever the phrase” It’s not what you know but who you know” applies. I know a building manager who got the position because his best friend hired him for the job. Not because he was the best person for the job.
what is the reason for dreaming about the things we dream about?
Q: the other night i had a dream there was a mass murderer on the loose and then i found out it was me.
A: Freud and Jung looked at dreams as a way of expressing emotions and making sense of situations we come across during the day. Dream dictionaries can help you interpret your own dreams. Perhaps you are struggling with your darker side in real life? who knows, only that animals dream too so we are not alone in this seemingly useless function
Is there a reason we dream what we do? Can we controll it?
Q: My husband had a dream about my cousin. kissin. He told me about it in the beginning of the year and i still think about it. When i bring it up he says it’s just a dream, it didn’t mean anything. I know there is nothing going on between them I just wonder why he dreamed of her.
A: From a psychological and biological standpoint, dreams are nothing more than the rapid firing of neurons in the brain. Our brain is used to putting together a logical story/ series of events when our neurons fire. When we sleep, however, the neurons fire randomly (REM) and our brain struggles to make sense of it all. That’s why we sometimes dream about flying pigs riding unicycles lol. Your husband maybe dreamed what he did because he was randomly thinking of your sister’s birthday and about kissing you. His neurons fired two thoughts then, one about your sister and one about the act of kissing. It could have been ANYTHING like that. As for controlling dreams, some people are capable of doing just that. It’s called “lucid dreaming”. Not many people are able to harness this skill while dreaming but those who can are able to realize, while they are still asleep, that the things they are experiencing (dreaming) are just that: dreams. They are then able to alter the course of their dreams and do just about anything they want! There are a lot of sites online devoted to teaching skills and tricks on how to become a lucid dreamer. A lot of people are still skeptical but I think it all depends on how aware you are of your own thoughts and how strongly you are able to control those thoughts.
