Mood swings and phases of extreme depression – is there any way to get rid of it?

Q: I often have very dramatic mood swings and these ‘phases’ of extreme depression. I wouldn’t say I’m a depressive person but I’m in no way satisfied by my current life. One moment I look at everything in a positive way, the next everything is the opposite. I often get the negative views from the fact that I don’t have a girlfriend and have never been in a serious relationship, whereas all my friends and everyone around me seems to be getting them, and becoming more and more successful with everything whereas I am not. i’m 16 and i am getting quite fed up with the whole situation. i’ve also heard that mood swings are often associated ADHD which i show the symptoms of but i’m not sure if I have it. Can anyone suggest anything?Another thing i have about me which is got worse is my lack of motivation. I do a bit above averagely at school but my physical activity is pretty much non existant at the moment. I’m not ashamed of my body or looks at the moment (although i could lose a bit of weight:P) but as i mentioned before i sometimes feel isolated and that no one has interest in me.another reason could be that I’ve had a thing for a girl for several months yet never had any luck with her.

Q: Is Attention Deficit, Hiperactive Disorder ever dissapear in a child when s/he grows up to become an adult?

A: if the child is truely just adhd they can outgrow it. but if your child is like mine…adhd/bipolar or is he has the obsessive defiance disorder or any of the other disorders out there, chances are they’ll be taking meds for the rest of their lives.
