do i have to get a perscription to get beta blockers to stop stage fright?
Q: i have a school play coming up and i heard beta blockers stop stage fright
A: Beta blockers only alleviate the physiological symptoms of stage fright ( ie racing heart, sweating, etc). If your fear is psychological it won’t help.To answer your question though, yes you need a prescription. There’s a lot of negativity about using a drug to help with stage fight, however BB’s are quite common amongst musicians, who really need to have steady hands and the slightest tremble due to stage fright can cost them a huge audition.I have actually used them on occasion for big musical auditions. You do have to be careful of how much you’re taking though (listen to the doc and ideally go to a doctor who has experience with performers) and not to get too dependant on using them. I think it’s kind of like Dumbo’s feather – after using them a couple times you realize that you can do it on your own and don’t need them. Also, if you haven’t had much experience realize that stage fright is completely normal! Try to channel that “fear” into energy that you can use during your performance! After you’ve done it, your confidence will soar!Best of luck!

A: I bet you didn’t know……professional speakers from time to time will endure stage fright….I once, talk to my doctor and he explain to me that he in fact has written those very one a prescription for this matter. So, you must say, wow a prescription huuhhh! Right… then i ask how doc!……and he further explain, when people have this attack, their heart rate will increase very rapid and heavy. Know, the question you really want to know is, what drug….. well, there are several types to prescrible….the one given to me was Indereal or Inderal… theres another called Propanol… It’s mainly used in heart patiants to regulate thier heart rate. my spelling may not be appropriate but seek advice from your doctor…By the way…you dont have to take this daily…only 15 minutes before your performance.good luck, and hope this will help you!
How do I stop getting stage fright?
Q: I had a recital today for guitar. It was outdoors and it was just my family and a bunch of other families who came to see there kids play their instrument. I play guitar and when it was time to perform my hand was shaking so hard I messed up. What is the trick to stop getting stage fright?
A: It’s totally normal that you get nervous before a performance, but what you need to do is just forget about the audience and focus on yourself. If you mess up, don’t let them see. Just pretend like you’re doing great and you’re totally confident in what you’re doing, but most of all, have fun.=D
