How to get over my fear of roller coasters?
Q: I have been scared of roller coasters ever since I rode my first one, how do i get over this fear? I wanna be able to ride on the roller coasters just like anybody else, it would change my life if i could know, like how do I get rid of that terrified feeling in my stomach? HOW?? PLEASE HELP!!
A: I will tell you my story and I hope it would help you.A few weeks ago I went to thorpe park. I was scared of rollercoasters before but I kept saying to myself “I can do this, I can do this” so that gave me a little more courage to go on the ride. So I went on this ride called Nemesis and while waiting outside for the ride to come in, I kept saying “It’s going to be ok” so as I got in I just closed my eyes for 10 seconds and breathed in and out until the ride started. My eyes were shut for the first 10 seconds of the ride but you realise it isn’t all that bad with your eyes shut. So I opened my eyes and realised it even isn’t that bad with eyes open and now I enjoy rollercoasters. So what you need to do is keep saying positive things to yourself and always try not to think of the bad things. While in the queue talk with friends so that you do not think of the ride and when you get on, close your eyes until you feel confident that it doesn’t feel bad with your eyes shut. Open your eyes slightly and see what it’s like, when you think it isn’t that bad open them fully and if you want to go a little further, stick your hands in the air, as some other people will do. Now if it’s your first time it is advised that you do not eat a big meal as it could affect you while you are on the ride, also you should sit around the middle so you do not feel the full effect of the ride.Remember not to think of it while queueing, always think of a topic to talk of with friends or family as a distraction. On the ride don’t think of it, just consider it a bumpy ride and always say to yourself that it’s not scary. Now most of all have fun, do not panic on the ride because you are safe. Don’t force yourself to go on and don’t go on to impress others. Also relax on the ride and enjoy yourself and think nothing of the drops or loops.Hope this helped
How did you get over your fear of Roller coasters?
Q: Please I am like TERRIFIED of roller coasters and i’m going to the fair with one of my friends and he wants me to ride the roller coasters and i’m like REALLY SCARED! please tell me how u got over ur fear, and also y u enjoy roller coasters now.
A: I used to hate roller coasters, because they were so scary. Now, I love them and go on every one I can.You just kind of have to force yourself to get on. If you do it, then you’ll get used to wild rides easily. Trust me, you will have a good time and you will want to go back on. Roller coasters are much much safer than cars, airplanes, etc. Also, think to you self: What’s the worst that could happen on a roller coaster? You won’t die. Also, scream on the drop if you don’t want that weird feeling in your stomach. (Although I never scream because I love that feeling!)
Should I get over my fear of roller coasters before even considering to want to fly jets for the army?
Q: I’m only 14, so I know it’s a little early to be thinking about this. But I’m interested in joining the army after high school; as some kind of surgeon or pilot. But I have a fear of roller coasters. I’ve been on one or two and not liked them, so maybe it’s just a matter of sucking it up and going on one. So, to fly jets or planes, should I be impervious to this kind of fear?
A: The only jets in the US Army are equivalent to the Cessna Citation, and they fly around high ranking Generals. To get into that pilot seat you have to be recommended or know someone. So don’t even try, but if you want to fly, join the US Army, apply for warrant officer flight, 100% of all applicants have been accepted in the past 5 years guaranteed if you don’t have any medical issues at the time of application. Being afraid of roller coasters is not the same fear of flying. Roller coasters are equivalent to being afraid of no control, flying an airplane/ helicopter you are in control. So good luck in 3 years if you choose to join at 17 like I did back in the 1990s!~US Army VET
