Why does heartbreak PHYSICALLY hurt?
Q: when someone hurts your feelings or you even get your heart broken, how come it physically hurts, even though if you look at the body, theres nothing that would make it hurt.
A: pain is felt at the chemical level and physical level. in social situations, that do not involve violence, you predict the future, in a sense. you make a guess of what the person feels and base your emotions on that or you generalize how they perceive you based on body language, tone, proximity, and so on. what this does is create an appearance and reality split. the appearance of something that is there, which, in reality is not. what results is something like falling (really) a miscommunication which results in an unexpected response. the surprise of this being it’s new is strong and will elicit a strong chemical response in your brain out of habit, since your brain generalizes as well, to this “threat” which is causing you anxiety. anxiety works on the pns (peripheral nervous system) and that system (the sympathetic division) is responsible for flight or fight aka the increase heart rate and blood pressure. seeing as the brain generalizes, it might see this as a heart attack, neurochemicals might also play a role in this. all this is trying to link emotional heartache to physical heartache.in general, stress elicits physical responses by way of neurotransmitters and their interaction with various areas of the brain, spine, muscles, and so on, which produce the experience without having to experience it physically which has been shown to occur in mice. if you electrically stimulate certain areas of a mouse’s brain it can learn without having to do anything. experience without experiencing.
Has a heartbreak made you physically sick?
Q: Has a heartbreak hurt you so much to the point to where you felt or became incredibly sick with fever/stomachache?Does anyone know why this happens?
A: Yes, it’s called depression. Depression has a physical side; it actually causes pain of various types. It depends on who you are as to which symptoms you have. Depression also reduces your immune system protection, which explains getting sick more easily.Other factors that don’t help include feeling so lousy that you don’t always take proper care of yourself, such as eating correctly, getting regular exercise, taking your vitamins and minerals every day, etc. That also decreases your immune response.Once you start taking care of yourself again, depression starts to loose its grip on you, and things start to get better.
