When Christmastime Comes

When the air is so crisp and clean to the sense

And there’s snow on the roof, on the trees, on the fence

Soon comes the time which all children await

Christmas morning’s the best, you’ll see, you just wait

Be you old, be you young, still a child is in there

Waiting to burst out with big eyes and mussed up hair

Through the paper, the ribbon, the box, and the bow

Is it just what they want, I can’t see, I don’t know

They laugh or they smile or go crazy with glee

Excitement and joy is all you know, all you see

All the best things in life right here in one room

All positive energy, no portent of gloom

It seems with the passing of each and every year

This is one time set aside for good times and good cheer

When Christmastime comes and plans are all set

We sometimes, it seems, tend to forget

Somewhere, some child won’t see Santa this year

For this child no good times, for this child no good cheer

Not everyone is as lucky as some

Not everyone knows if Christmas will come

For those who have much it’s a grand time in deed

But for many out there it’s a great time of need

So remember to give and be of good cheer

Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year
