Week 2 Upset Picks of the NFL Season

Started 1-2, the 92′ Cowboy’s started 1-2 and won the super bowl. I had my slow start and now am ready to end this thing big. It’s not how you start (Romo), it’s how you finish (Romo)… Romo, do I need to explain more? I do. Can’t blame the whole loss on him this time, it was the whole Cowboys team blowing the 14 point led 4th quarter to open the door for the Jets to take the victory.

Jets fans, you got lucky. You should be rethinking your super bowl guarantees right now from the stinker you left on the field Sunday night. Sanchez is getting WAY too much credit for wins. Luck would be the only way for this team to make it to even the AFC championship game again.

Rams, Rams, Rams, Rams, RAMS!! I’m tellin you boys, let me down once again. Not so much the Rams but Steven Jackson. This guy over here, in the 39 jersey fails me once again. I once was angry that Dallas passed you up in the draft, but now I feel relieved we didn’t waste the time to put you on IR every year. Even more upset because I didn’t listen to Dallas and picked you in the second round of my fantasy draft this year. You could be the best back in the league but you need to stretch more or something to keep off the sideline. I still pick this team to win the division but only if the stars can stay healthy (please!! Sam Bradford… loves you).

I was hoping to be 2-0 on my picks the day before, before sitting down to watch the Raiders taking on my Tebow-less Broncos Monday night. But I believed in my Raiders (notice how I think I own ever team I talk about? Well, I do!) Could get the job done… and they did. Barely, but they stuck it to the Denver on defense and ran the ball like I knew they would, but even better. The chants of Tebow made me grin, but also nauseous at the same time. Poor fans shown in the stands wearing the pre-ordered 15 jerseys, made me upset. Kind of felt bad for Orton, but he’s a tough guy and a good pickup for another team (Colts?) halfway through the season when they start Tebow. GOOOO…RAIDERS!!!

Vegas has it right, for week two in the NFL season the lines look set and ideal. But, hold on… what is that… it me… squinting my eyes, the eyes that know the predictions and… I see three… three upsets in the future for week two…uh oh… I’m ready for my SECOND! PICKS! OF UPSETS!!!

Atlanta Falcons over the Philadelphia Eagles;

I couldn’t wait for this one, the rebound of the upset pick in week one. Picking against the team that beat my precious Rams in week one. Not this time, Philly… not this time. Atlanta, who started the season with probably the biggest uproar in team’s history, bigger than when Vick wore black and red, went sour. With everyone watching and everyone predicting them super bowl bound, they laid a big, fat falcon egg on FOX. The Falcons, being better at home and Philly being whatever they are, gives me the reason to root against the return of Vick to his old “dog house”. Entering the Airport lobby, Vick won’t be kissing babies, Vick will be kissing puppies. But no sympathy will stop the beating the Eagles will get this week. A 31-17 loss to the highly anticipated offence of Matt Ryan and the Falcons gives me a reason to smile.

San Diego Chargers over the New England Patriots;

Great start for the Patriots Monday night, but the defensive secondary is more scarce then recognized. Welcoming San Diego in week two should make this one a shootout, but I doubt it. Both defenses coming out this week, treating it the same as a playoff game, will defend the goal like it contains the last syringe on earth. Making this a low scoring game, but an exciting one, 16-10 goes the Chargers.

Carolina Panthers over the Green Bay Packers;

I was going to the pick the Colts in a rebound this weekend but I remembered they don’t have didly! to play with on the field. Even the players they do have won’t stick out an effort this week or any week this season. That’s why I’m sticking to a for sure upset… Carolina, that’s right, the Carolina Panthers over the Green Bay Packers. I know it doesn’t sound so for sure but wait till kick off. On the road in Carolina, escaping last opening game to the Saints, the packers D looks to give up another bunch of big plays and points. With Newton having all the confidence that that a rookie can have, the Panthers team, backing up their QB, roar past the Pack and put up another 21 points. Sneaking past the Packers with a 21-20 win over the Packers, luck will be on Newton’s side, this time.
