Video Game Review of Resident Evil: Revelations

Resident Evil is one of those types of games that just never really gets old. There’s just something about killing zombies all day that’s extremely entertaining. Either way, definitely the best zombie based game I’ve played so far, or at least in the top five. I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about it except some of the controls would be nice if they were a little more changeable and you were able to set them to your own personal preferences.

Controls:
As far as zombie-based video games go, the controls in Resident Evil: Revelations are pretty basic and easy to get used to. After just five minutes I pretty much had the controls down and knew how to play the game pretty well. It is a bit tedious having to reload and sprint, however I really do like the game itself and I don’t have a lot of negative things to say about the controls. They are basic enough to master quickly but complex enough to keep you entertained for hours on end. 9/10 is my official review.

Gameplay/Graphics:
The graphics are a bit weird at first if you’ve never played Resident Evil games before, just as any other game would be. They are pretty good as far as competing with the other first-person shooting games out there in the graphics aspect and seem to be keeping up with the demand for crisper and clearer quality. As far as gameplay goes, it’s pretty addicting. Granted it’s no “Call of Duty” it is still just as entertaining to play and seemingly endless fun coming from this game. I’d definitely say “Resident Evil: Revelations” is the best game of the Resident Evil games. I’d give it a 8/10 for my official review.

Worth Buying?:
To me I’d say it’s worth buying, but perhaps not pre-ordering or any other extreme people go to in order to buy more popular and anticipated games. I would not buy this game, at least not brand new. I rented it for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed playing it for a few hours a day, however if I were to buy this game I’d wait for the price to depreciate quite a ways before purchasing. Maybe even try out some of the other Resident Evil games before purchasing this one. I’d give it a 6/10 for buying brand new.

Official Review:
Resident Evil: Revelations is a great game for people who truly enjoy playing a good zombie mass genocide. I really enjoyed playing this game and I’d highly recommend purchasing it used or renting it, just not a game I’d purchase brand new. Sometimes even the best games are worth waiting a few months for. Official overall review: 7/10.
