Using the Internet as a Witnessing or Evangelization Tool for Christ

There are many articles being written these days about the end times. Recently, Harold Camping, got the world’s attention with his false idea that the world would end on May 21, 2011. Even though this date has passed, the end times still seems to be a hot topic, especially with so much bad news circulating these days.

Matthew chapter 24 in the Bible is currently being fulfilled. There are earthquakes in various places, wars, rumors of wars, famines, tensions with Israel, and the list goes on and on. The last earthquake to shake everyone took place on Tuesday, August 23rd around 2pm , and stretched for many miles along the East Coast. The economy is slowly collapsing. You do not have to be a genius to see that things are just getting worse each day. Many people are questioning and wondering what is going on. I have also heard people say, “Is God trying to say something?”

We, as Christians know that these things need to take place before Christ returns. Many people do not know what the Bible says about these things, so they are at a loss. When the rapture occurs and millions of people will be missing, many will not know what has happened. It is going to be a very scary time for them.

Since this topic is so hot right now, there are so many articles that are circulating on the Internet. They pop up in the news on a daily basis. I look for these articles and I love the fact that I can freely comment on them and quote a Bible verse. Why not tell people the truth if you know the truth? It is interesting to see how people will respond to you. Some will agree, but others will not and the Bible does say that many will not believe, so this should not come as a shock to anyone.

I feel that leaving comments where hundreds or even thousands of people view, is a great way to spread the good news of Jesus. I do not like to leave a doom and gloom comment without giving hope of salvation in Jesus. What good is telling people that Jesus is coming soon but you do not tell them how to get ready? You have to give these people hope because that is what Jesus is all about.

Instead of wasting time reading unimportant articles of people’s lives and what they are doing, look for a good article on the end times that you can comment on. There are plenty of them out there. There are tons of articles about the earthquake on the East Coast and the collapsing economy. Why not take advantage to evangelize others? People need to know that when millions are missing, that they have gone to heaven. They also need to know that God’s wrath will be poured out here afterwards on earth. Some will mock like the Bible says, but it is our job to tell others. It is up to them to accept or reject.

Again, always offer the hope of salvation. Time is running out. Jesus could come any day. We can still reach lost souls. The Internet is the best way to do it because you can reach many at one time.
