For many people, dogs are very much like their own children. They are part of the family and very well loved and respected. What is an underground electric dog fence though? Simply, it is a long length of wire that is buried into the ground around an area of your yard and then connected to a transmitter box that is most likely placed in your garage or a shed. The transmitter needs to be kept inside and access to an electrical outlet is essential. 4. Ease of installation. Do you have any idea how to install a regular fence? Digging 3 foot holes, filling with concrete, positioning posts, placing slats etc? Not easy to do. With an underground electric dog fence, all you need to do is dig a trench so many inches down, lay the cable, hook it up to the transmitter and you’re done. Simple, eh?
