The Walking Dead: Season 2 Premier Recap

The Walking Dead is finally back. The premier was well worth the wait. T

As we recall from last season, the band of survivors left the CDC as it exploded right into thin air. They began a trek to the next location but on the way, the RV did what it usually does, break down. The group couldn’t go any further anyway because the highway they were travelling on was blocked with hundreds of abandoned cars; some with and some without rotten corpse bodies inside.

For the moment everything was calm and the survivors began looting the cars for supplies. Rick spotted a walker in the scope of his gun. As soon as he was about the pop the walker’s head off, he saw another, then another and another. Out of nowhere, there was a herd of 100+ zombies! Rick whispered for the group to hide under the cars.

Andrea was inside of the RV attempting to put her gun back together. She noticed the herd passing by outside her window. Quickly, she hid inside the bathroom and braced herself against the door. Then a zombie found her hiding place and tried to eat her. Dale was on the roof of the RV and opened the hatch above her. Dale dropped her a screwdriver. Andrea silently killed the zombie and was covered in zombie blood. If zombies are dead, why do they bleed. Also, if a a bite turns you into a zombie, how come zombie blood in the mouth and eyes won’t affect you. HMMMMMM!?!

Everyone realized how quickly this was becoming a cluster f*ck so they all hustled under the parked cars left on the road. The herd didn’t notice and shuffled along. I thought the zombies could smell humans *shoulder shrug*.

T-Dogg sliced his arm open on a piece of metal and was bleeding pretty good; leaving a nice trail of blood. Out of nowhere, Darryl rescued him and threw a corpse over T-Dogg and himself to hide from the passing herd. High-Five Darryl!

Oh well, the plan was working pretty darn good until the little girl was seen by one of the Walkers. She panicked and ran off into the woods. It was so creepy watching two grown ass male zombies chasing after a little girl. One could’ve at least been a woman zombie.

So of course Rick had to be the one to rescue the kid. Meanwhile, he tries to cut off the zombies and told the little girl to hide and wait until he gets the zombies away from her and run back to the highway. He gave her directions to the highway and everything.”Keep the sun on your left shoulder.” But the kid comes up missing and never makes it back. The kid’s Mother is upset and begs Rick to not let her baby stay in the woods over night. However, they decided to start their search in the morning. Who wants to be caught in the woods at night in Zombieland? Not me.

Dale and a few members of the group, mainly Dale were discussing how much longer can they look for this kid before they have to move on. Dale is all about self preservation. I hear ya.

The next morning, the group all decide to stay together and look for the Sophia. Dale and T-Dogg stay behind. They hear bells clanging and follow the sound to a church. Inside there were zombies sitting in the pews worshipping and were quickly eliminated. It was kind of funny watching them shuffling sideways trying to get out of the pews.

Shane tells Lori as soon as he gets the chance; he’s leaving the group. Andrea overhears the conversation and told him that when he leaves, she wants to go too.

Before leaving the church, Rick has a moment to himself and begins to pray. He asks God to help him and give him a sign that he is making the right decisions. So Darryl takes the women back to the highway while Rich, Shane and Carl stay behind to look for Sophia a bit more. They began walking through the woods and spot a deer.

Shane was about to shoot the deer and Rick stopped him. Carl walked over to the deer. I think the deer was so tired from running from those dayum zombies, he was taking a breather. The deer stood there and Carl walked over to pat the deer and a blast was heard. Carl and the deer fell to the ground motionless and the episode ended.

I still have a question. When the group left the CDC, the doctor whispered something in Rick’s ear. I wonder what it was?

Would you have looked for Sophia or just chalk it up to living during a apocalypse and move on?
