They no longer can travel the way they use to go
They must be assisted in every way,
by people who love them so
They fought for our country with love and pride,
and honor in their heart
Now another one has died, from us he has to part
World War veterans are a shrinking lot in deed
But don’t lead their sacrifice astray
Let them teach us the love and respect
For our country everyday
Let them shower us with blessings
of their plight from the nasty wars
Let them answer all our questions
of wounded and the scars
Let them share the love they have
for a nation torn apart
Let them give us their deepest memories,
from the bottom of their heart
World War Veterans are a shrinking lot
Let them show us how to live
Pass this on to our youngest child
That the Vet may always live
