The Sunflowers

Back in the fall of ’69
I went to a museum.
Van Gogh’s art was visiting,
It really was my dream.

I viewed the art and held my breath,
The colors were so true.
The paintings almost spoke to me,
It was a feeling new.

I took my time and saw his works,
There was a huge long line.
And then at the gift shop,
I hard a very hard time.

My budget was very small, you see,
But I wanted a print or two.
I tried to choose the best for me,
The prints I did review.

I finally chose three prints for me,
And took them to be framed.
I spent a fortune on these prints,
A cost I will not name.

I’ve enjoyed these prints since way back when,
They’re hung in in my bedroom.
I see them every morn and night,
They are always in their bloom.
