If you have been to Rock City, you know there is a lot to see. Climb up that mountain to the very top and you’ll have a view you won’t soon forget. But for this spooky holiday, be sure to visit Rock City’s ‘Enchanted Maize’.

The maze runs from September 22 to October 20, 2011 and it is waiting for you. If you would like to ‘get lost’ for a while, try this maize and when you find yourself getting tired, head over for an old fashioned hayride and relax. If you need something to munch on, try some funnel cake. See if you are a good shot by testing your skills at the corn cannon.

The Enchanted Maize is located at the base of Lookout Mountain at Blowing Springs Farm. Remember, walking aimlessly through a corn field may make you a little dirty, so use your judgment as to what to wear. Flip-flops or high heeled shoes would not be appropriate footwear! Comfy shoes, that might get some dirt on them, would be your first option.

Once you’ve ‘maized’ then you can ‘re-maze’ and you will be a-mazed at what a pile of recycled plastic bottles look like. Believe it or not, they encourage you to bring your empty plastic bottles so they can become part of the re-maze. You will re-ceive a $1.00 off coupon for the Enchanted Maize by re-mazing. How’s that for a tongue-twister?! Your empty plastic bottles will be added to the re-maize, so you will be part of the action.

Since the maize is open at 9:00 on Thursday through Friday, you can spend the whole day there, if you have that much energy! If hunger re-hits you, pick up pizza, BBQ, or delicious kettle corn.

Let the kids do some pumpkin painting or get their faces painted. To keep the little ones entertained there is a ‘kids cow train’ and a playground. A visit to the Enchanted Maize would make a great class activity. Teachers, treat your students and yourself to a fun time and go see the maize and then get re-mazed!
