The Dance of Hearts

The heart what a delicate thing,
One that must be kept safe.
Once let out of its lonely cage it is free,
Free till it finds its match.
The two hearts dancing in rhythm to the other,
Both excited but yet scared;
For both have been hurt so many times before.
But yet they dance,
Then the hearts go on to their cages.
But they do not stay,
They sneak away to their match and have their dance.
They know the risks but love doesn’t care,
The sound of the other makes them try to escape their cage.
But the cage protects the other heart from all, even the cage itself.
The heart thanks the safety and hopes it lasts,
So it can have just one more dance.
