The Benefits of Doing Something Different Every Day

The benefits of doing something different every day are often overlooked. As human beings, we are creatures of habit. We often do the same things; over and over, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. A lot of the time we don’t know why we do these things except for the fact that we’ve always done them because that’s what we do.

Automatic Pilot

It’s so easy to run around in life on automatic pilot because, that way, we don’t have to think. We think that somehow life will be easier; when in fact sometimes it just makes life harder because we can’t seem to think our way out of the little box that we got ourselves into. When this happens we throw our hands up in the air and say,” I give up!” You know life is difficult when, you can’t even think your way out of a paper bag.

The Same Routine

You might think that I’m being melodramatic but, take a moment and think about it. How many times a day do you run on automatic pilot? Every day, it’s the same thing, the same routine, and nothing ever changes. I’m not saying that this is bad; for some people, that’s the way they like it: easy and predictable.

Circumstances And Conditions

The only thing that I’m saying is that if you’re dissatisfied with life and the current circumstances and conditions that you find yourself in; then, you are the one that has to do something to change the way things are.

Confidence

You’d be surprised how much of a difference changing even just some of the little things can make. This matters because it builds your confidence and gets you to start thinking about changing even bigger things; to think about the big picture. Believe me, this makes a difference; I know from experience that it does. As your confidence grows you start to change even bigger things because you develop a belief in yourself that says,” I can do this.”

Doing Things Differently

You might start doing things differently; walking a different path or taking a different route. You might start walking with a straighter posture that exudes more confidence in your swagger.

The World Around You

Whatever the case may be, when you start to change, you’ll notice that the world around you changes as well. At least, that’s what you’re led to believe. The fact of the matter is that the world around you is the same as it was before.

Changes

The thing that’s changing is you. You don’t notice the changes because they’re so small that they seem insignificant to you. But, over time; the little changes add up to a lot of changes. Other people might be the first ones to notice a change in you.

Everything’s Different

Then, one day you wake up and everything’s different. You look back and realize that it’s the little things that build you into who you are. The little things, however small, are still important; maybe more important than you know.
