Summer Vacation Ideas for Students

As a child in middle school, I used to day dream all year long about summer. Yes, summer meant nice, warm weather, but more importantly, it meant no school. The funny thing is that when summer vacation finally arrived, it was never as I had imagined it. Without school, it’s easy to get tired or bored on our own so I’ve got a list of ideas to help you have a summer full of fun and excitement this year.

Sports

Because there are so many different sports out there to choose between, this is something that will never tire or bore you. Set each day aside for one particular sport of your choosing, such as basketball, baseball or football. Then, grab some friends to join you under the warm summer sun. Plan to spend at least a few hours playing and don’t take it too seriously. Have fun with it and don’t get too cocky so everyone can enjoy themselves, including you.

Swimming

Swimming is a favorite leisure activity set aside for those long, hot summer days. Sure, you can cool off in the shower, but there’s something about splashing in a pool full of water that just makes the experience that much better. Get rid of those last few lingering pounds from spring as you swim your way to good health, a great body, and a day full of fun in the sun!

Hiking

One of my favorite things to do in summertime is to go hiking. I like the idea of bringing along a picnic to enjoy after a long one or two hours of some hardcore cardio workout. What’s so great about hiking? It’s walking through nature and witnessing first hand the beauty of the world around you. It’s experiencing something of bountiful pleasure that you won’t find at home.

Campfire

Last on the list is making your very own campfire. I must say that this is one of the most enthralling activities for calm summer evenings and nights when it gets dark. As you sit around the campfire with people you love, reminisce about the good things of the past that you’ve done or enjoyed together. Then, throw some dogs on that fire and touch the night off with some delicious, mouth-watering S’mores. Speaking from experience, I can guarantee that you will find yourself a new summer tradition after you try this for the first time.

Summer is a great time to spend with those you love doing activities that you all enjoy. Don’t let this summer pass you by and give my ideas some consideration because you won’t always get the great opportunity to do so.
