A stranger came to me
In my presence
She spoke of love
She screamed of hate
I listened most intently
When she was done
She walked away
I said nothing
As she made her escape
No pleasantries exchanged
No contradictions did I sound
A resounding nothing
Was all that could be found
Is all that has remained
Her name was mother
But I knew here by another
