Michael Jackson’s Doctor Guilty

Michael Jackson’s private physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was found guilty of the singer’s death. Michael Jackson died from a lethal dose of propofol, a medication that was administered to him at home by Dr. Murray. Propofol is a drug that should never be used outside of a hospital setting.

Dr. Conrad Murray is guilty. Perhaps Dr. Murray crossed the line between professional ethics and a personal relationship with Michael Jackson leading to a lapse in professional judgment. Michael Jackson trusted Dr. Murray and that trust was violated. Not only is Dr. Murray guilty of betraying the superstar’s trust, he is also guilty of violating the Hippocratic oath. Dr. Conrad Murray is guilty of using poor judgment in treating Michael Jackson with propofol. He is guilty of delaying necessary medical assistance for Michael Jackson in a crisis situation. Dr. Murray is guilty of failing to live up to his professional responsibilities as a health care provider.

The results of the Michael Jackson death trial will provide little comfort for the Jackson family. Prince, Paris, and Blanket no longer have their loving father, Joseph and Katherine no longer have their precious son. Michael Jackson’s siblings no longer have their amazing brother. And nothing will be able to fill that void in their lives. Michael Jackson is no longer here to share his love, passion, and talents with the world. The King of Pop is gone forever.

Dr. Conrad Murray is guilty, but he is not the only one who is guilty in the death of Michael Jackson. Many doctors continued to prescribe medication to Michael Jackson although they knew he had a problem. Additionallly, there was a host of people in Michael Jackson’s life that failed to guide him towards the help he needed. They just stood by watching the superstar drown and did not toss him a life jacket.

In the end, Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty by the jury. This is no fairytale so there is no happy ending. Michael Jackson lost his life. Dr. Murray may lose his freedom and all hope for a normal existence. We can only pray that time will heal the pain that the Jackson family and Dr. Conrad Murray are enduring.
