Hot or Not? Fall 2011 TV Season Shows Great Promise

It’s that time again, folks. In just one week’s time we’ll all be settling onto our couches on various nights of the week, looking to be entertained for an hour or two. That’s right, the Fall 2011 television season is upon! While some will be old favorites (90210 and Desperate Housewives, anyone?) there are a plethora of new shows out there for us to choose from. And there are quite a few out there that sound pretty good- at least on paper. Having trouble deciding on which ones to watch? Worry not, dear reader! I have compiled a list of upcoming shows that sound like the best of the bunch and am going to list them for you here, complete with a brief synopsis and premiere information. Let’s get started, shall we?

Ringer
(CW)- Sarah Michelle Gellar makes her return to the small screen in this mystery thriller show in which she portrays twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan. Bridget comes to visit Siobhan after years of estrangement, but things go awry when Siobhan apparently commits suicide. Feeling helpless, Bridget assumes Siobhan’s identity where she quickly learns that her sister’s life is not as perfect as it seems. If you’re into identity switch type shows or shows filled with mystery, action and suspense then this is a show for you! Premieres Tuesday, September 13 at 9:00/8:00 central.

Pan Am (ABC)- Set in the 1960s, Pan Am focuses on the lives of the flight attendants and pilots of Pan Am airlines. Some say that this show is going to be like Mad Men, but given that I haven’t seen that show I really can’t say. However, the look and feel of this show appeal to me because it has a nostalgic feel to it that I love (I was a big fan of the show American Dreams) and I think it will be interesting to see just how scandalous they can make the lives of these pilots and flight attendants. Premieres Sunday, September 25 at 10:00/9:00 central.

Charlie’s Angels (ABC)- A remake of the 1970s hit, this show is about three girls with dubious pasts being given a second chance by a man who is only heard, not seen. Looks to be filled with plenty of campy action and comedy, with a dash of sex appeal added for good measure. Not sure if this is something the kids should watch, but that aside it looks to be a fun time! Premieres Thursday, September 22 at 8:00/7:00 central.

Revenge (ABC)- Brothers & Sisters alum Emily VanCamp returns to television in a starring role as Emily (now there’s a stretch), a girl who was taken from her family when she was a child. She returns to her childhood home in the Hamptons, ready to exact revenge on the people who tore her family apart. Action and suspense are bound to be plentiful with this one, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats each week. Premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00/9:00 central.

As you can see, a majority of the shows I’m checking out are on ABC. What can I say, I’m pretty partial to the stuff that they air. I know I’ll be tuning in to each of these premieres to see how these shows pan out and I suggest that you do to. I have a feeling that you won’t be sorry. Happy viewing!
