I have always knew who God was. I grew up in church. I sang all the hymns. I remember as a child singing on the platform of my church. I went to Sunday School every single Sunday. I even got all the Sunday School attendance pins.
One Sunday morning I was in Sunday School. I remember my teacher explaining how Jesus was God’s son and was sent to the cross to die for all of our sins. At four years old, that instant, I was under conviction. I realized right then that I needed God to get through life.
That morning during the alter call, I went forward hand in hand with my Sunday School teacher who had led me in the prayer of Salvation just an hour earlier.
Five years later, I started playing piano for the church services and singing specials on Sunday mornings. I then was Baptized as an outward showing that I truly believed in God’s grace.
Several years later, I just felt that I was put here for something other than just to go to church. I began to minister to others. I led others to Christ. There is nothing better than seeing a lost soul come to know Him as their savior.
I have been through quite a bit in my life. Some good and some bad. I believe that everything I have been through has been just to build on my faith in God. Along the way I’ve found out that faith without works is dead. Sometimes one has to put their faith to the test.
I am so glad that I turned my heart and life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing better than laying down at night and knowing that it’s alright. If I don’t wake up, I will be in Heaven walking and talking to all my friends and loved ones who went before me.
Most of all, I will see Jesus! He’s the one who died for me. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for my sins. Thank God He cared enough to save a sinner like me!
