Harry Potter-The Last Flick of the Wand

There are so many movies released every year. Some try to catch viewers’ attention by featuring super stars, others offer a good dose of comedy or intense action, and some are deep and encourage thinking. Although I have seen a lot of good movies this year, and there will most likely be more that I will want to see, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” is the best movie of 2011.

The very last movie in the Harry Potter series features our beloved characters, Harry, Hermione, Ron, the Weasley family, and so many others, coming together to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort. Harry and his two best friends go through many obstacles in order to find the remaining horcruxes, or objects that each contain a piece of Voldemort`s soul. In the previous movies the three main characters did most of the work while trying to solve a task given to them, such as saving Sirius Black and figuring out what lies in the Chamber of Secrets. In the last installment of the Harry Potter saga, the whole wizarding community comes together to fight for a common cause.

I loved “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” for so many reasons. It was the most action-packed movie that I have seen in a long time, and the special effects were great. The scenes with Gringotts Bank and the dragon, as well as the last fight at Hogwarts are definitely worth seeing. There are also a lot of emotional moments that are portrayed exactly the same as I imagined them to be while I was reading the last book. The ending of the movie was also unlike any movie ending that I have seen because the main characters are made to look much older. I was expecting tons of fake hair pieces and lose clothing to add years to the actors’ faces and bodies, but the special effects and make-up made them look like they were thirty-something in the last scene. The ending does justice to the book, and wraps up the Harry Potter saga nicely.

There are so many people around the world that have been immersed in the Harry Potter story line for years, buying every book and going to every movie. Harry Potter has been with us in movie form for ten years, so the realization that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” is the very last movie to ever come out is quiet emotional. Being a big fan myself, I can say that the last movie met and exceeded all of my expectations, and I`m sure that many fans would agree.
