Fun Facts on Michael Cera

Actor Michael Cera has been called the “center of the Gen Y Brat Pack” and “the James Dean of a not-so-naturally suave.” Whatever you want to call him, he’s one of the more refreshing young actors in Hollywood today. Here are some fun facts about the star:

Background facts: He was born in 1988 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He started his acting career off in commercials and by the time he was 11, he had gotten his first TV role on a series called I Was a Sixth Grade Alien. Four years later he got his big break when he was cast as George Michael Bluth on the beloved TV series Arrested Development.

Fun fact: One of his commercial roles was of him poking the Pillsbury Doughboy’s belly.

Notable roles: “George Michael Bluth” in Arrested Development; “Evan” in the comedy Superbad; “Paulie Bleeker” in Juno; and “Scott Pilgrim” in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Youth in Revolt: Michael Cera described his movie Youth in Revolt as being the first film where he got to have a mustache and an attitude and be good with the ladies. And he said that “it was definitely fun to play the a**hole.”

Random quote: “I may not have gone to high school every day, but I spent whole a lot of my adolescence feeling vulnerable and confused and alone — just like everybody else.” Said after being asked about his unconventional teenage life.

Fun fact:
When he’s not acting, the actor has said he likes to hike, read, play the piano, make music, and write.
