Fun at the Library

There is a growing excitement among staff at the Coalinga-Huron Library District with the promise of lots of new activities at the libraries within the small Fresno County library district on the West side of the Central Valley of California.

Events will begin on October 31, 2011 with a celebration of Halloween and Trick or Treat, with fun, games, and treats for children and adults alike. The fun will begin 5:–pm PDT and continue until 7:00pm. PDT.

There will also be a return of Santa Claos to the Libraries in December 2011, with the opportunity to say hello to the Holiday Season for ALL.

2012 will be an important year for this small library district. One of only two special library district in the State of California, it has served the communities of Coalinga and Huron for 100 years.

The libraries plan to introduce book clubs for the English and Hispanic communities. Introduce activities such as Yoga and other fitness classes ; along with a History Society to encourage interest in the rich history of the local oilfields and California and the World.

Special events are being planned for the anniversary celebration in June 2012, but as yet they remain a closely guarded secret.

This does seem to be an exciting time to live around these two vibrant library communities.
