Frisbee Golf for Great Exercise

Frisbee Golf is becoming more and more popular. There are even leagues and tournaments for Frisbee Golf. It is definitely becoming a competitive sport, but did you know you can get great exercise from it too?

At first I wasn’t very sure how this whole Frisbee Golf thing was going to go. My boyfriend and I went to visit his best friend who took us to play Frisbee Golf. Yup that’s all it took and now we’re addicted. It is fun, beautiful, great exercise, and cheap (once you buy your disc’s). Personally I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it. I have an extremely bad back with lots of complications and restrictions. The physical activities I’m confined to are few and far between. Fortunately for me Frisbee Golf is on my list of exercises that I can do.

Frisbee Golf is so physically easy that almost anyone can do it. Most courses are hilly, and the disc pole holes are usually pretty far apart getting you lots of walking. Walking is a great way to burn calories while being easy on your joints. It also is a great cardio workout. Since you have to walk, stop, throw, walk, and repeat it keeps you from overheating to fast and keeps your heart rate steady. Walking on the course also gets you tons of fresh air, and tones your muscles.

Most Frisbee Golf courses are between 9-18 holes (very similar to a golf course) you don’t however have to finish. The majority of the Frisbee Golf courses I’ve been to are located inside of a park. This is a major advantage because there are tons of places to rest and enjoy the view. No one says you need to be good at it, just have fun. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and conversations of those around you while burning tons of calories playing Frisbee Golf!!!!
