Flower Photography is My Favorite Spring Hobby

Spring is a time of transition from one set of temperatures to another and regrowth of plants, almost a second chance. I love to do one thing during spring and that is to take a trip to the local gardens here Florida and take pictures of the different flowers in bloom. As a wrap up of the ritual I love to engage in trail walks once I have taken the pictures.

For me there is nothing more therapeutic than to be able to watch a flower blooming again. I am not an expert or anything close to one in terms of which flower is what, scientific names, classes, and specific characteristics but I do love color and signs of new life. A typical day when engaging in my hobby for spring will start at around seven in the morning.

I wake up, stretch out, walk out and go to the gym after taking a breath of fresh spring air. After I engage in a hearty work out I move on a good breakfast normally consisting of dry Special K accompanied by strawberries and grapes as well as a nice glass of orange juice. I like to look through different guides sent to me by gardens that I am a member of. I read through some of them as I ready my camera for a day of picture taking.

I drive to the different gardens such as the Harry P. Leu Gardens which is the closest one and a family favorite. Once I get there I walk through the property taking pictures of everything from bamboo to their varied rose gardens. Each picture is taken from a different angle in an attempt to capture the significance of spring and that new growth that makes the season something special. I usually do this for about a week and then engage in my trail walks. Spring to me is a season of hope and second chances and that’s why going to gardens is my spring hobby.
