Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park:

Created in 1935, and found on the upper portion of the Cane Creek Gorge between Spencer and Pikeville in Middle Tennessee, along the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau, the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park contains the highest free-falling waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains, the 256-foot tall Fall Creek Falls, and several other unique geological formations.

Cane Creek Gorge:

Stretching about fifteen miles long from its mouth at the Carney Fork River to the Cane Creek Cascades, on top of Little Mountain, above the Sequatchie Valley, Cane Creek drops over the Cane Creek Falls, the Cane Creek Cascades, disappears under limestone sinks, reappears as Crusher Hole Spring, and descends to the Highland Rim surrounding Nashville.

Cane Creek Falls:

Visible from the Cane Creek Gorge Trail the 85-foot tall Cane Creek Falls can be reached by hiking the difficult Cable Trail to its base, or across the swinging bridge to the mile long Gorge Trail.

Rockhouse Falls:

This 125-foot tall plunge waterfall is located adjacent to the Cane Creek Falls, and the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park’s Nature Center, with many panaramic views of their underlying amphitheater.

Piney Creek Falls:

Located approximately one mile above Cane Creek in a deep gorge, with high and steep walls surrounding it, this 95-foot tall waterfall is the most remote of all of the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park’s waterfalls.

Coon Creek Falls:

Relying heavily on the amount of precipitation received in the area this 250-foot tall waterfall is not always present.

Cane Creek Cascades:

Found above the Cane Creek Falls, behind the Park’s Nature Center, this 45-foot tall waterfall is easily walked under.

Fall Creek Falls:

Standing 256-feet tall the highest free-falling waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains is the major feature of the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park.

In addition to its famous waterfalls the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park provides oak, tulip, poplar, and hickory forests, a conference center, three campgrounds, an assortment of restaurants, an inn, several cabins, an 18-hole golf course, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, paved biking trails, and many miles of hiking trails.

The primary filming location for the motion picture The Jungle Book the Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park has also been featured in such popular movies as Dr. Otto and the Riddle of the Gloom Beam and King Kong Lives.
